Born and raised in Peru and now based in New York City, Javier Robles is an architect and designer celebrated for his thoughtful spatial compositions, international perspective, and deep passion for art and culture. While studying at the University of São Paulo, Robles was influenced by Brazilian modernist architecture and later deepened his expertise in vernacular building techniques, working on historic mud brick structures and monumental pre-Colombian sites in northern Peru.After earning his master’s in architectural design at Columbia University, Robles joined the Interiors and Product Design faculty at Parsons School of Design in New York, where he deepened his expertise in materials, fabrication, and emerging technologies while mentoring the next generation of designers.Robles established his first studio in London in 2004, working on residential, commercial, and cultural projects across Europe, Asia, Latin America, and the U.S. As his practice expanded to encompass interiors, product design, and large-scale architecture, he launched Lumifer in 2014—a lighting and furniture studio born from his pursuit of distinctive, high-quality furnishings that integrate seamlessly into his spaces.
